Group CEO Departure
Wednesday, October 21, 2015
Following more than 16 years service with the Peermont Group (having joined Global Resorts as the Commercial Director during July 1999), Anthony Puttergill has advised the Peermont Board and key shareholders that he is not available to serve as Group CEO on a full-time basis beyond 31 December 2015.
He is relocating to Cape Town in December 2015, where he plans to join his family and take a much anticipated sabbatical break.
At the request of the Board and its key shareholders, Anthony has agreed to continue serving in a part-time role on an interim basis until the outcome of the Sun International transaction is known, whereafter his services will terminate.
During the interim period from January 2016, and, until the outcome of the Sun International transaction is known, his role and employment will change from full-time service as Group CEO to part-time employment as Group Executive Chairman from January 2016.
In the meantime, Anthony has delegated much of the day-to-day responsibility for running the business to an operational PGPL Exco, who will continue to run the day-to-day operations. The executive leadership structure will be reviewed by the Board once the outcome of the Sun International transaction is known.
The PGPL Exco consists of:
Mr Nigel Atherton, Acting Chief Operating Officer Emperors Palace
Mr Charl Fouche, Group Finance Executive
Mr Mark Jakins, Acting Chief Operating Officer Regional Properties
Mr Thabo Mokoena, Group Development Executive
Ms Fihliwe Nkomo, Group Human Resources Executive
Mr Jegie Padmanathan, Group Hotels & Resorts Executive
Mr Dawie Petzer, Group Legal Counsel & Strategy Executive
Mr Grant Robinson, Acting Chief Operating Officer - Management Company & Shared Services
Mr Bob Yearham, Group Gaming & VIP Operations Executive
The Peermont Group thanks Anthony for his invaluable contribution over the past 16 years, and wishes him well in his future endeavours.
